At one point and time, Antawn Jamison was essentially the face of the Washington Wizards franchise. Of course, that one point and time was around 2006. Jamison continued to play for the Wizards franchise until the 2009-10 season where he then played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers.
Now at 36, in the twlight of his career, the Wizards for some odd reason want to bring him back.
Per Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears:
Wizards also would “love” to bring back Antawn Jamison, who played there from 2004-10. Wiz texted the mutually interested Jamison on Sunday
Jamison’s interest in obvious as he’s not going to draw much on the open market, though, it’s a bit questionable as to why the Wizards would have any interest. Jamison, while he still had relatively effective stretches for the Lakers this past season is on the decline and wouldn’t bring much to the floor. He’d certainly bring a welcome attitude and leadership to the Wizard locker room which is heavily in need of some veteran pressence, so maybe that’s their hope. Of course, he could do that in a coaching role but Jamison doesn’t appear ready to hang up the sneakers just yet.
