The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have a lot of money to spend on free agents that aren’t their own, so they’ll need to spend wisely. One such target that could be a solid addition would be Carlos Delfino, who spent the past season as a member of the Houston Rockets.
According to Mike Bresnahan, the Lakers have expressed an interested in the sharp shooting swingman:
Lakers interested in Carlos Delfino, small forward w/ range. They had, um, not a lot of range last season. Will he sign for mini mid-level?
In the most ironic of twists, Delfino was one of the players who the Houston Rockets either traded or released (Delfino was released) in hopes to clear enough cap space to sign the Lakers’ Dwight Howard.
The 30 year old Delfino had an all around game which benefits just about any bench in the league. While not spectacular at any one skill, he brings a versatile talent that would work well in Los Angeles and doesn’t appear to be afraid of the big stage.
Affording him however, could prove to be a problem.
