The Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons are all expected to make a strong push for Kevin Martin here in the early goings of NBA free agency.
Add the Oklahoma City Thunder to that list as well. Mark them down as serious.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Thunder are set to have a telephone summit with Martin Monday afternoon:
Thunder, I'm told, have lined up a telephone summit this afternoon with in-demand shooting guard Kevin Martin

Martin is now entering his age 30 season and was a critical role player for the Thunder off the bench last season. He averaged 14 points per game as the critical sixth-man that helped round out a solid group headlined by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
The Thunder have some work to do to retain Martin thanks to the serious interest he is gaining on the open market, but may have an inside track as the only team with a serious shot at a championship, that is, unless the Mavericks can find a way to land Dwight Howard.
Stay tuned for the Martin saga to continue.
