The Portland Trailblazers have gone from a team trying to better itself enough to make the postseason to one of the most exciting teams in the entire NBA. Led by star point guard Damian Lillard, the Blazers have so far put together a respectable off season that saw them not only draft well but pull off a trade that landed them Thomas Robinson in exchange for a carton chocolate milk and a box of broken crayons.

They’re not done yet though as according to CSNNW.com, the Blazers are in hot pursuit of Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen, who hit the open market at midnight last night.

Per Chris Haynes:

"Late Sunday night the Portland Trail Blazers contacted the representatives of unrestricted free agent guard Tony Allen, a league source conveyed to CSNNW.com."

Portland isn’t the only team after Allen but they may have the best chance of landing him. All of a sudden thanks to the moves they’ve made (and haven’t made), the Blazers are a great destination for NBA free agents looking to get in with a contender. The Blazers haven’t been to the postseason in years but they have the talent to do so now and they have room on their roster for players like Tony Allen to step in and really make something of an excellent situation.
