New Orleans Saints Make Major Change in Personnel Department

The New Orleans Saints and general manager Mickey Loomis have decided to make a major change at the top of the player personnel department for the sake of the franchise moving forward.

It was announced Monday that Ryan Pace is the new director of player personnel decisions within the organization (per Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk):

"The team announced today that director of pro scouting Ryan Pace was named director of player personnel, and will oversee the personnel department. Pace has been with the Saints since 2001, working his way up from operations assistant to pro scout and beyond."

The news does not mean Loomis has given up his final say in decisions. Rather, Loomis appears to simply be looking for someone to have his back. Pace is someone he can trust to run the ship the right way considering Loomis’ time is now split between the Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA.

Loomis is stretching his resources thin as is, but has found a trustworthy candidate to help continue to mold the Saints franchise in to his liking. It’s a smart move considering Pace has worked his way up from the bottom of the organization and has more than proven to have a handle on all things Saints football.
