Keller Chryst, the new number 1 pocket-passer, according to ESPN, has chosen to attend Stanford University to play college football. Among other QBs to pass through Stanford, Plunkett, Elway, and Luck are some of the most notable. Chryst spoke about following in the footsteps of some of the great QBs from Stanford.
“It’s very humbling to even be mentioned with those guys. It’s kind of exciting just thinking about what could happen in the future.”
Keller decided to choose to go to Stanford over other schools like USC, Alabama, Arizona and Pitt, where his uncle is actually the head coach. But he decision makes a lot of sense. Chryst comes from Palo Alto, California, and its hometown school is Stanford. He thought that choosing his hometown school would be a better choice than the other top schools that recruited him. On staying close to home, he said,
I just felt like it was the best decision for me overall. Every school had their own strong points, and I just felt like I fit in best at Stanford.
Chryst is not only the number 1 ranked Pocket Passer, he is also the 21st ranked player in the country, according to ESPN’s rankings. He also knows exactly what the Cardinals are going to be getting from him.
Stanford is getting a player that works hard and does everything he can to be the best. Even if you fail, or get knocked down, you have to keep trying.
He seems to be on the right track, and he will be an interesting player to watch in the coming years.
