It didn’t take long for the Washington Nationals‘ star hitter to make an impact in his first game back from the disabled list.
As the crowd cheered on Bryce Harper as he stepped to the plate, it only took the second pitch by Milwaukee Brewers‘ starter Yovani Gallardo for the left fielder to knock the ball out of the bark for the 13th time this season.
The Nationals would take a 1-0 lead at the time and would later tack on seven more runs for an 8-0 lead in the 4th inning.
Harper returns after being on the 15-day DL with his knee injury, and his last game he played in was back on May 26th against the Philadelphia Phillies.
It’s been a brutal few months for Harper who had just 11 hits and three home runs in May as he dealt with injuries compared to having 32 hits and nine HRs in the previous month.
After tonight’s home run, it looks like Harper is already back into his old form.
