The Georgia Bulldogs could be down a starter when they face off against the Clemson Tigers to start the season. Over the weekend, Georgia place kicker Marshall Morgan was arrested for driving a boat under the influence. Hey, at least he wasn’t on a scooter.
According to the Eatonton Messenger, Morgan was arrested on Georgia’s Lake Sinclair by Department of Natural Resources rangers. There is no word on whether or not Morgan was arrested singing, “I’m On A Boat“.
A brief statement from a Georgia spokesman read, “Coach [Mark] Richt is aware of the situation”.
The real problem for Georgia comes with their DUI policy. While this incident took place on a boat, it could very well be treated like your typical DUI arrest. If that is the way it goes down, the University of Georgia athletics policy mandates a two-game suspension.
These special teamers sure are special.
Morgan could be a key player in what appears to be a very even game, but the 19-year-old thought it’d be a good idea to have a few brewskies on a lake and now he may not be able to help the team kick off their promising season.
