The Dwight Howard free agency has been crazy this summer. Teams have pulled out all the stops to get Dwight Howard this summer, teams are bringing Hall of Famers along, having others Skype. There are billboards outside the Staples Center, promises of statues and television shows.
But the Houston Rockets who had the first meeting with Dwight Howard are the ones most likely to win the bidding war for his services.
At least if you ask them.
“They already have him, if you talk to them,” one league source said, via CBS Sports.
Putting Omer Asik on the market is an indication of their confidence. If Dwight signs with Houston he isn’t needed. The Philadelphia Sixers would be a potential trade partner, they got burned by Andrew Bynum last year and former Rockets GM Sam Hinkie is their new front office leader.
“Rival teams say the Rockets are making Lin available” according to CBS as well. And they’re expected to move both Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik ahead of the July 10th free agent signing date.
Of course a different source said Dallas Mavericks” href=”http://fansided.com/2013/07/01/nba-free-agency-rumors-dwight-howard-likely-to-sign-with-dallas-mavericks/”>Dwight was all but determined to go to Dallas.
