The Sacramento Kings are on the verge of losing Tyreke Evans to the New Orleans Pelicans but the question on everyone’s mind is are they willing to let it happen or are they planning on fighting to keep him. As it stands now, the Kings are very much on the fence about matching the Pelicans offer sheet to Evans but they haven’t ruled it out.

After meeting with the Kings, Evans seemed to be encouraged that the Kings might end up matching the offer, at least this according to USA Today’s Sam Amick.

This seems to jive with the will they/won’t they speculation we had all day long on Monday. It was clear from the start that the Pelicans wanted Evans and would give him an offer sheet. But the real question all day long was what the Kings would do about it as we heard everything from they were letting him walk to even a rumor about a sign-and-trade that involved Eric Gordon coming to Sacramento.

The Kings don’t have an endless amount of time to ponder what they want to do with Evans and the Pelicans offer sheet but it seem like we won’t be having a firm answer soon and Sacramento may ride this one out to the very last minute.
