Riding the wave of a completed deal that will land Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in town, the Brooklyn Nets seemingly forgot the existence of the salary cap and decided to go after Kyle Korver. Well, surprise, surprise — it’s not happening.

For a moment it did seem that the Nets could convince Korver to take a pay cut and sign with Brooklyn. Rumors said that the Nets believed that Korver was “in the bag” and the team’s star player Deron Williams even tweeted photoshopped pictures of Korver in a Nets uniform. It all seems a bit silly now.
While adding one of the better 3-point shooters in the league to this Brooklyn team would have helped tremendously, it doesn’t look like it’s happening.
With other players of similar caliber signing for a lot more money than what the Nets would be able to offer, it’s understandable that Korver will look for other options. One thing that is certain is that the Atlanta Hawks free agent will have no trouble finding a new home in the NBA.
