NBA Free Agency 2013: Josh Smith Did Not Turn Down Golden State Warriors Meeting

Former Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith is probably the second most desired free agent on the market after Dwight Howard (this is assuming Chris Paul stays true to his word with the Los Angeles Clippers) with a handful of teams requesting to meet with the one time high school star.

One such team that reportedly requested to speak with Smith were the Golden State Warriors, however, it was said their request was politely declined earlier today. That is not the case, according to Warriors beat writer Marcus Thompson who says the Warriors were not rejected, however, despite that the two sides did not meet:

I’m told by a different source Josh Smith did not turn down a GSW meeting. But a meeting did not happen despite whatever interest GSW had

Smith is reportedly en route back to Atlanta to make a decision on his future, so it looks like meeting denial or not, the Warriors wont likely be part of his thinking process. Still, an eleventh hour visit is never out of the question.
