Pittsburgh Pirates Activate Jose Tabata From Disabled List

The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated outfielder Jose Tabata from the disabled list, where he has been for the past six weeks because of an oblique injury. Tabata had a nine-game rehab assignment at Triple-A and he will now be re-joining the surging Pirates.

With Tabata’s return, Brandon Cumpton has been optioned back to Triple-A.

Tabata will either take the place of Garrett Jones or Travis Snider in the outfield or Gaby Sanchez at first base.
