Chauncey Billups Wants To Play Two More Seasons

The 36-year-old veteran guard Chauncey Billups has had some tough years. In the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, Billups suffered an Achilles tear, among other nagging injuries, which limited him to just 48 total appearances. However, “Mr. Big Shot” had not intention to retire and intends to carry on playing two more years.

Now, the tweet above is a little weird. “Detroit has done interest” is clearly a typo on Chris Broussard’s part, but it’s probably safe to assume that the Pistons are interested in his services.

Another team that could have mutual interest in Billups is the reigning champions Miami Heat. At this point in his career, Billups probably wouldn’t mind a little bit of a relaxed role that would reduce the risk of him getting hurt. He would have a legit shot at another championship, although his role would likely be very limited. The Heat probably wouldn’t mind having another veteran shooter around, but Billups would likely have to accept the veterans minimum to join the team.
