The phenomenon that is Yasiel Puig will not miss any time after suffering an injury last night, this according to the Los Angeles Dodgers Twitter feed which says he will be in the lineup for tonight’s game against the Colorado Rockies.

Per the Dodgers:

"Puig in the lineup, batting second in RF"

The Dodgers outfielder suffered a bruised left hip and thigh after running into the wall last evening, though, an MRI reveled no structural damage. The same probably can’t be said for the wall, who took a mighty crunch in the blast. No official MRI results for the wall were immediately available.

Despite striking out at a somewhat high rate, Puig continues to rake, hitting .440 with 8 home runs and 18 RBI in just 28 games – just a remarkable rate.

His success has translated to the Dodgers as well, who thanks to a collective National League West slump have picked up a handful of games on the division leading Arizona Diamondbacks.

Just eleven days ago, the Dodgers and Puig sat 9.5 games out of first place. Now, they sit 2.5 with the opportunity to move within 1.5, depending on what the Diamondbacks do this afternoon.
