Earlier this morning it was reported that the Sacramento Kings would not match the offer sheet presented to Tyreke Evans by the New Orleans Pelicans and that the two sides were in the process of working out a trade.

Initial reports had both Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez coming back to the Kings, but according to Sam Amick of USA Today, the trade now could become a three team deal.

Per Amick:

Per @ailene_voisin report on Kings/NO trade, no deal done but scenario would send Robin Lopez to Portland, Vasquez to Sac, Evans to Pelicans

There’s no word on what Portland would be giving up, if anything. Sacramento, who currently has DeMarcus Cousins, Jason Thompson, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes aren’t exactly clamoring for a big man and would probably prefer to pawn off Lopez’s salary.

It should also be noted, the Kings and Pelicans are working on a preliminary trade. With nearly a week until Evans can actually sign with the Pelicans, the Kings are reportedly exploring the option of letting Evans walk and using their cap space without a return from New Orleans.
