Yankees’ Derek Jeter Ready to Play Rehab Games

Derek Jeter of the New York Yankess has been rehabbing an ankle injury for quite some time now, but according to the man himself it sounds as if he is ready to get back out on the field.

Well, in a rehab capacity in the minors. Jeter told Stephen Lorenzo of The New York Daily News that he’s ready to go:

“Everything felt good, yes sir,” Jeter said. “I think I’m close.”
“I see him hitting (batting practice) because I shag during that and that looks good,” injured outfielder Curtis Granderson said. “I haven’t seen him take ground balls or run or anything like that. But hitting wise everything looks good.”

With the way things sound, Jeter should be back with the team after the All Star break barring a setback. The Yankees have been without some of their best over the past few weeks, so the sooner Jeter can return, the better.

Keep it locked here as we’ll have the latest on Jeter’s rehab assignment.
