After testing out the free agency waters, forward Chris Copeland is close to finalizing a deal with the Indiana Pacers. The news surfaced on Friday night. The New York Knicks will have an opportunity to match any deal, but they will not be able to afford to do so because of the big deal they just gave J.R. Smith.

Copeland was targeted by a number of teams, so the Pacers have to be happy that they were able to land one of their free agent targets. He will be able to provide some additional energy and production to their already impressive line up.
