Josh Smith In Atlanta Deciding On Future

Josh Smith has left Los Angeles and headed back to Atlanta to think about the decision ahead of him. His decision isn’t getting the attention that the Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is garnering.

While Josh Smith probably wants to make a decision quickly, he might be best served by waiting for Dwight to decide. Once Dwight is off the market his value increases, and teams in desperation will become more likely to give him the money he is hoping for.

Smith wants a max contract this offseason. Last offseason he averaged 17.5 points and 8.4 rebounds a game. Aside from those solid offensive numbers he is valuable as a defensive tool at power forward. His biggest downfall is his love affair with the jump shot. He is at his best in the paint within 5 feet of the rim.
