NBA Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Pull Andrew Bogut From Deals?

Just hours ago it was reported that the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors were in trade discussions for Australian big man, Andrew Bogut, but the Golden State Warriors have apparently taken him off the market – at least for now.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Warriors are no longer offering up Bogut in deals, just the expiring contracts of Richard Jefferson and  Andris Biedrins.

Per Stein:

Also: Latest signals on Warriors say GS-Dubs still aggressively exploring their trade options but ONLY w/Jefferson & Biedrins. NOT Bogut

While it would be nice for the Warriors to keep Bogut, assuming they could somehow sign Howard, no teams are going to take Jefferson or Biedrins without some extra compensation. Bogut alone has enough trade value to move himself (or with a small extra piece), Jefferson and Biedrins do not.

Of course, the Warriors could throw in picks and or young talent in a deal to entice a team, but they’d clearly have a much easier time trading the expiring contract of Andrew Bogut.
