Jered Weaver Names Son in Trubute to Former Teammate Nick Adenhart

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jered Weaver decided to give a tribute to his late teammate Nick Adenhart with the name of his first-born son. Weaver and his wife named their son Aden David Weaver. Weaver has always paid tribute to Adenhart in every start since the young pitcher was tragically killed by a drunk driver by writing the initials “NA” on the mound (as pictured above).

Adenhart had just completed a scoreless six innings on the mound on April 8, 2009 before he was hit by the drunk driver hours later and killed along with two of his friends.

It is a great sign of respect from Weaver and awesome way to tribute your former friend and teammate.

Adenhart’s death rocked the organization and came as a huge shock, but as you can see the team has never let the memory of Adenhart go.
