Former Atlanta Hawks star Josh Smith has left the team for greener pastures. Smith was drawing interest from the Detroit Pistons early in the free agency period and he has finally agreed to a deal with the team despite some speculation that he could land elsewhere.
The reports surfaced on Saturday afternoon.
From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

Detroit felt comfortable giving Smith the big money, but it was still a curious move in the eyes of many people.
Smith was expected to draw some interest from the Houston Rockets after they landed Dwight Howard, but it appears the early interest from the Pistons was all Smith needed to agree to a deal.
