In a tweet that now appears to be gone, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant sent a parting message to former Lakers center Dwight Howard, who will officially be the newest member of the Houston Rockets on July 10.
Shortly after the reports surfaced that Howard would be leaving to Houston, Bryant hit the old unfollow button on Twitter and tweeted out a picture with Pau Gasol.
The photo that Bryant sent out was accompanied with the message, “#vamos #juntos #lakercorazon #vino,” which in English would translate to “#LetsGo #StickTogether #LakerHeart.”
Howard and Bryant never seemed to really click in Los Angeles, so the loss of the big man could be a move that actually benefits the Lakers moving forward. Howard’s departure also allows Gasol to move to center where he is a perfect fit in Mike D’Antoni’s offense.
When you look at the bigger picture, the loss of Howard really doesn’t hurt the Lakers in any way. In fact, it can only help them in the future, especially if they are able to land LeBron in 2014.
