Los Angeles Lakers Expected to Move Pau Gasol to Center

With Dwight Howard bolting the Los Angeles Lakers for the Houston Rockets in free agency, power forward Pau Gasol is expected to get a long look at center by the team. There was a chance that Gasol could be amnestied or traded during the offseason if Dwight Howard returned, but with him out the door and the uncertain status of Kobe Bryant to start the season, this may be Pau’s team.

Gasol is a perfect fit at center in Mike D’Antoni’s offense and running the offense through the post will only help the team moving forward.

With Gasol out of the four spot, the favorites to land the starting gig are Metta World Peace, Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly.

It is going to be an interesting season for the Lakers, but they are hoping to get a lot of production out of Gasol as he enters the final year of his contract.
