I’m not exactly sure Carmelo Anthony and Hakeem Olajuwon are a match made in heaven, at least from a skills standpoint, but when a great offers his help – you take it. And that’s exactly what New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony did when The Dream reached out to the former Syracuse Orangeman.
According to Jared Zwerling, Melo will train with the former Houston Rockets legend this Summer, most likely in between the time Olajuwon spends with Dwight Howard.
Carmelo Anthony is planning to train w/ Hakeem Olajuwon this offseason, as well as Amar’e Stoudemire for the second summer in a row. #Knicks
In addition to Carmelo, as Zwerling points out, Amar’e Stoudemire will also join in on the festivities. Why the most logical candidate to benefit from Olajuwon’s skill set and knowledge, Tyson Chandler, isn’t working out with The Dream is unknown.
Melo is hoping Olajuwon can help him improve his already solid post game, both on offense and defense.
