The Houston Rockets have won the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. One of the biggest factors possibly was Chandler Parsons and his friendship with Dwight Howard. Forbes detailed how Chandler Parsons helped the Houston Rockets land 2013’s biggest free agent.

"“Chandler was relentless,” explained a source close to the situation to FORBES. ”[Chandler] called and texted [Dwight] every day, even face-timed and would answer every question Dwight could potentially have. We would drive to his house in the hills and talk to him. Basically Chandler Parsons recruited him like Nick Saban and a 5-star defensive tackle; they hardly knew each other at beginning of process.”"

They say that NBA athletes who went straight to the NBA out of high school don’t get to experience the butt kissing that goes along in recruiting, that free agents like Dwight and LeBron James even, want to savor the process and experience.

You’d think superstar NBA players would get their butt kissed regularly enough, but I guess that feeling of truly being wanted.

What Chandler Parsons did was make Dwight Howard feel wanted, something he didn’t feel in Los Angeles.

Maybe Chandler Parsons has a career of coaching college hoops ahead of him with this natural recruiting talent.
