While the NBA Summer League has restrictions and rules on what players can participate, there aren’t any regulations on who can scrimmage with the team and the Charlotte Bobcat’s Kemba Walker plans to take advantage of that.
The ninth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft says he plans to meet up with the Summer League roster and get some work in, a great sign for the second year player.
Per the Charlotte Observer:
Walker told Clifford he’d like to come to Charlotte to participate in some practices with the summer-league team. Zeller and Walker should collaborate well in the pick-and-roll. The sooner they learn each other’s likes and habits, the better.
The Bobcats plan to implement a new system under coach Steve Clifford which will heavily focus on the pick and roll, something Walker was among the worst at in the league last year. Walker and Clifford are hoping some extra work will bring his numbers up to a more respectable level.
Always great to see players putting in the extra effort to get better.
