After losing Andrew Bynum and Dwight Howard in back-to-back seasons, the Los Angeles Lakers will have to look elsewhere for help at the center positions. On Monday, the team did just that by attempting to fill their void at the five spot by signing free agent center Chris Kaman.
Marc Stein of ESPN.com had the report:
THIS JUST IN: Lakers have agreed to terms on one-year deal with former Clippers C Chris Kaman. (via @ESPNSteinLine)

There is some belief that the Lakers could decide to play Pau Gasol at center instead of at the four spot because his style in the post is perfect for a center in Mike D’Antoni’s system, but they will still need additional bodies in the post and coming off of the bench. Kaman can provide that security for Los Angeles.
He may be no Dwight Howard, but if Kaman can buy in to the Lakers system and work with the team mentality he could prove to be a more valuable asset.
