NBA Free Agency 2013: Marreese Speights Agrees to Three-Year Contract with Golden State Warriors

Andre Iguodala isn’t the only player that the Golden State Warriors picked up in free agency on Monday.

This time, it’s not our good buddy Adrian Wojnarowski who’s been killing it with free agency reports this month, but Yahoo! Sports’ Marc J. Spears who gave the report.

The Golden State Warriors reached agreement on a three-year deal with Cleveland Cavaliers forward-center Marreese Speights, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Speights averaged 10.2 points and 5.1 rebounds with the Cavaliers after being acquired during the season from the Memphis Grizzlies. He became a free agent after he opted out of the final year of his contract, which would have paid $4.5 million next season.

Earlier today, the Warriors acquired Iguodala in a three-team trade with the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. The Jazz received Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins, Brandon Rush, and a 2014 first-round pick from the Warriors.

Speights averages 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in his career. He began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2008 for three seasons. While he did start 54 of 60 games two seasons ago, his best production was with the Cavaliers last season.
