QB Everett Golson Plans On Returning To South Bend

Everett Golson, the quarterback for the Fighting Irish during the BCS Championship game, is planning a return to the team during Spring of 2014. He was suspended back in May from Notre Dame for for the 2013 season for “poor academic judgment.”

Golson told WPDE, a TV station in Myrtle Beach, SC,

I will be returning in the spring, that’s pretty much it.

He had a good 2012-13 season, leading the Fighting Irish to the BCS Championship game with an undefeated record as just a redshirt freshman, where they were blown out by Alabama. Golson also said,

I’ve had a little adversity but I’ve learned you can’t sit down and just take that, you got to pick yourself back up and keep going forward and continue doing what you were doing and everything is going to work itself out in the end.

Right now, Tommy Rees has been announced as the starter for the Irish for the upcoming season. Golson says he “knows” he will be coming, but some are asking how can he be so sure? It’s weird to hear him be so confident in the interview, but we will just have to see if he actually does return to South Bend to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
