Browns fan Scott Entsminger took one last shot at his beloved Cleveland Browns before being laid to rest. He wanted six Browns players to serve as pallbearers, so they “could let him down one last time.”
No Browns players will do so however. But the Browns caught wind of the viral story that’s swept the internet and have a parting gift for their loyal fan, a customized Browns jersey.
Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert tells PFT that the team contacted Scott Entsminger’s wife as soon as they learned he’d passed. She explained that Scott’s favorite player was Lou Groza. At Tuesday’s memorial service for Scott Entsminger, a Browns representative will deliver to Entsminger’s wife a personalized jersey bearing Groza’s number, 76.
The franchise could unfortunately be headed for some turbulent times. Their owner, Jimmy Haslam, has had 18 civil suits filed against him and their are reports that his company is up to $4 billion in debt.
Haslam has vowed that he will not look to sell the team and that he wants to remain owner. He also has pointed out all these improvements made to the stadium and a facility in an effort to turn the team around.
