Texas Rangers know all about the relationship between short stop Elvis Andrus and third baseman Adrian Beltre. In last night’s game between the Rangers and Baltimore Orioles Andrus couldn’t miss an opportunity to mess with Beltre. On a pop fly that was clearly Beltre’s ball Andrus came running in pretending to go after the ball to mess with Beltre.
Adrian Beltre made the catch and gave Andrus a stern look before he joined Elvis in laughing.
This isn’t the first time it’s happened either. In a game in June against the St. Louis Cardinals, Beltre appeared to be going after a catch and made Andrus look like he was doing something along the lines of the video above. But in this video, Beltre is the prankster.
The pranks usually center around Elvis Andrus touching Adrian Beltre’s head. If there is one thing Rangers fans know, Adrian Beltre hates people touching his head.
And that’s just from this season. Their on field production has made their on field playfulness acceptable. They’re just a half game behind the Oakland Athletics for first place in the American League West division.
The odd couple Andrus and Beltre have formed definitely makes watching the Texas Rangers fun.
