The New York Knicks simply cannot seem to keep themselves out of the NBA Free Agency spotlight. Countless names have been thrown around over the past week for the Knicks, but this is a new one.

Apparently the Knicks have an interest in former Toronto Raptors swingman Mickael Pietrus, who will apparently be coming back to the States in a few weeks to work out for NBA teams. Our guess is the Knicks are one of those teams thanks to a report by ESPN’s Jared Zwerling on Twitter:

Pietrus only appeared in 19 games a year ago with the Raptors before being shut down with knee tendinitis. If healthy, he could be a valuable asset for a lot of teams in the NBA as he is known for his great defense and spotty shooting from downtown.

The Knicks do not have a lot of cash to offer, but there is no way Pietrus will be able to demand anything more than the veteran minimum anyway. Watch for this one to play out in the next few weeks.
