NBA Summer League: Mason Plumlee’s Dunk Fest (Video)

Former Duke Center Mason Plumlee was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets. His positives and desirable qualities that made him a desirable draft choice was his athleticism, rare for someone his size. He can run well in transition and fast breaks, he moves well when he rolls and most importantly he can finish at the rim.

He demonstrated that ability in a third quarter dunk fest against the Miami Heat.

Now it is the NBA Summer League, so let’s hold off on anointing him the the next great, but he certainly put on a show.

The first one was a driving under the basket two handed backwards dunk. The second one was a two handed jam off a pass as he came through the paint. At this point you could tell he was starting to feel it. The next one was a similar set up but he finished it with a one handed jam.

The Brooklyn Nets have to feel good about their pick, but it will hard for him to get playing time behind Brook Lopez and Andray Blatche.
