Dallas Cowboys, Sean Lee Could Open Extension Talks Soon

It has been reported for a majority of the offseason that the Dallas Cowboys would look to extend middle linebacker Sean Lee, and now it looks like those extension talks could begin soon. With Lee’s natural leadership ability on a team that lacks that quality, he is a valuable asset for the team and they are prepared to acknowledge that.

From the Dallas Cowboys official website:

The front office will look to extend him soon and rightfully so because of his ability and what he means to this team with his leadership. Players and fans around the National Football League have an idea of who Sean Lee is, but come February he will take his place among the best of the best and then everyone will know.

Lee has had injuries slow him down, but when he has been 100 percent the flashes of brilliance have been there.

With the team’s new 4-3 scheme under Monte Kiffin, it is a perfect system for Lee to shine and really have a breakout season that could lead to the first Pro Bowl appearance of his career.
