Free agent center Andrew Bynum continues to generate plenty of interest on the open market, but his inability to work out has appeared to slow down the process. Bynum’s most recent meeting came with the Dallas Mavericks, who are looking for a big-bodied post player after missing out on Dwight Howard.
Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson didn’t share much about the meeting with Bynum on Wednesday, but he did state the team had their medical staff visit the often injured big man.
From Bryan Gutierrez:
Nelson on visits w/Bynum and agent: “They had a nice visit with our doctors. We had a lunch. Beyond that, the negotiations are ongoing.”

Cleveland is the team currently believed to be in the lead for Bynum, so the Mavericks would need to top the Cleveland offer if they don’t want to miss out on another target.
To this point, Bynum has given no indication on when he will decide where his next home will be, so this saga could continue to drag out over the next few days.
