Like Matt Garza, David DeJesus is another name from the Chicago Cubs that has been involved in a ridiculous amount of MLB trade rumors as the deadline quickly approaches.
Unlike Garza, DeJesus may be sticking around past the deadline—thanks to injury.
“I don’t ever want to get hurt. And it’s tough to watch these games and not be able to do something to help the team out,” he said. “But at the end, on the other side is if our family could stay in Chicago and stay with the Cubs’ organization, it’s definitely – I don’t know what the word would be.”
Blessing in disguise? Silver lining?
So at least one big player for the Cubs appears to be sticking with the team after the deadline. Maybe for the wrong reason, but at least DeJesus actually wants to be in Chicago.
Sure, the team will be unable to get anything from him if they truly want to ship him away, but at least he’ll be where he wants to be.
