Free agent safety Kerry Rhodes is still without a team just before the start of NFL training camps, but the former New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals star is reportedly in discussions with four defensive back needy teams as they look to make their final moves before camps open.

It’s in the works,” Rhodes said, according to Al.com.”I can’t talk about it in depth but there’s a good four teams that I’m looking at. There are ongoing discussions. I’m trying to see which one will be the best fit for me. You will see me, though.”

If everything goes according to plan for Rhodes, he will be playing in 2013.

Last season in Arizona, Rhodes started all but one game and hauled in four interceptions. When he is at the top of the game, Rhodes is one of the league’s most elite safeties.

Unfortunately for the veteran defensive back, he has been unable to reach the top of his game since moving to the desert. Hopefully a new environment can provide him with the spark that he needs to rejuvenate his career.
