In the days since Dwight Howard spurned the Los Angeles Lakers, rumors have swirled that the storied franchise will attempt to bring in NBA superstar LeBron James to pair with Kobe Bryant as Bryant’s career comes to an end. It’s the perfect transition to a new legacy for both the Lakers and LeBron, but the question remains – why would LeBron (who can opt out of his contract next season) leave Miami for Los Angeles?
According to Kobe Bryant, so Bron can help Black Mamba get some more rings.
Why would he do something like that? Bryant says he assisted Dwyane Wade, so why not assist Kobe?
Per Lakers Nation:
“It’s that argument that goes on forever,” Kobe told Lakers Nation at his basketball camp at UC Santa Barbara. “You don’t want to help someone else kind of increase their ring count, but he’s already increased Dwyane’s, so I don’t think it’s that big of a stretch.”
How Bryant assumes the Lakers would be able to afford James, considering he’s ‘not interested in a pay cut’ remains to be seen.
