The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks don’t like each other. That was evidenced by the melee that took place during their brawl earlier this season.
Both Puig and the Dodgers have been on damage control since the story broke, but Diamondback’s catcher Miguel Montero isn’t buying it.
In addition to giving Puig a Dikembe Mutombo finger wag at home plate the other night, Montero suggested Puig needs to stop doing “stupid things”.
“Right now, I’m not going to say he’s the best because he hasn’t proved anything yet. Does he have talent? Of course. Does he have the tools? Of course. He’s got so much talent, it’d be really bad if he wasted it doing the stupid things that he’s doing. You have to respect to earn respect. If you don’t respect anybody, you aren’t going to earn respect.”
This comes just a few days after San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo and Puig exchanged “kiss” faces after Puig scored the would be winning run.
