The Los Angeles Lakers are still recovering from the loss of Dwight Howard but have managed to stay healthy in NBA free agency by adding names like Chris Kaman.
Despite having little cap room left, the Lakers have made another signing in the form of Nick Young. Agent Mark Bartelstein broke the news via Sam Amick of USA Today on Twitter:
As noted, the Lakers do not have a lot of cap room left. The mid level exception when to Kaman as the answer to the loss of Howard, so it’s going to have to be a minimum deal for Young.
Young is a solid, versatile player who can come off the bench for the Lakers. He did not have a major impact last year with the 76ers, but he was expected to garner a good amount of interest on the fee-agent market.
It is not the big signing Lakers faithful were looking for, but it’s a quality move within the financial restraints the team finds itself in at the moment.
