Texas Rangers Manny Ramirez 'Randomly' Tested For PED's

Manny Ramirez, who recently decided to make another attempt at playing in the Major’s has already been tested for PED’s, this according to Jeff Wilson of Foul Territory.

Players not on the Texas Rangers 40-man roster were subjected to a “random” drug test earlier this week and in that group was the newly acquired Ramirez, according to Wilson:

A source said on Thursday that all players who weren’t on the 40-man roster were subjected to a drug test earlier this week. Included in the group was Ramirez, who twice has failed tests for performance-enhancing drugs.

General manager Jon Daniels declined to comment on the timing of the test, but said that the word from Round Rock indicates that Ramirez, 41, has been a model citizen after signing a minor-league contract last week with no guarantees of getting a promotion to the Rangers’ roster.

There was no word if Manny was clean or not, though, the Rangers did say all reports they’ve heard have been ‘good’ – a much better word choice than ‘positive’.
