2013 Thorpe Award Watch List
By Josh Sanchez
As the preseason watch lists continue to surface for college football’s top awards, the Thorpe Award for the nation’s best defensive back has announced their list. 48 defensive backs made the list, and surprisingly the SEC was not not the most represented conference on the list. That honor went to the Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12, who all had eight representatives a piece.
Highlighting this year’s list are Jason Verrett of TCU, Oklahoma’s Aaron Colvin, Darqueze Dennard of Michigan State, LSU’s Craig Loston, Lamarcus Joyner out of Florida State and many more.
Last year’s award when to Mississippi State’s Johnthan Banks.
