If you had to pick through the San Francisco 49ers roster and find a faulty point, you may land on their wide receiver corps, especially now that Michael Crabtree is going to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Sure, they added Anquan Boldin but will their core of young wideouts step up? Or will they dud?

That might not be a question Niners general manager Trent Baalke wants to deal with as he reportedly is still interested in signing former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, Austin Collie.

Per the Sacramento Bee:

"The 49ers remain interested in former Colt Austin Collie, but they are unlikely to make a move on the free-agent wide receiver until after training camp begins, a source close to the situation said this week. One of the team’s top priorities this summer will be to see if any of their young and inexperienced wideouts perform well enough to warrant significant snaps when the regular season begins. If none elevates his game, an inexpensive veteran like Collie would be of interest."

Collie has Northern California roots and should find ample playing time in San Francisco, if such a move was made.
