After picking up an outfielder that the Kansas City Royals designated for assignment back on June 29th, the San Francisco Giants put the ink on a minor league deal back on July 9th and will recall him almost immediately.
Andrew Baggarly, Giants beat writer of CSN Bay Area, notes that Francoeur along with Santiago Casilla will be activated and Francouer will play out on left field with newcomer Kensuke Tanaka.
Casilla will be activated tomorrow. Francoeur will join tomorrow as well, most likely. He and Tanaka will platoon in LF, Bochy said.

In 59 games so far this season, Francoeur has a .208 batting average with just 38 hits and three home runs. Considering how energized Tanaka is and how the fans respond to him from the crowds, I’d expect him to remain in the outfield more often. Another factor is Francoeur’s current batting average is on pace to be lower than any of his other amounts in previous years.
Francoeur will have an opportunity to fix his hitting in a few games before the All-Star break.
