Unless you’re living under a rock or aren’t connected in with social media, you’re probably aware of “Sharknado” which is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds – a tornado of sharks.
The absurdly outlandish movie premiered on the Syfy Network last night and took the internet by storm thanks to the insane premise and horrific acting which featured unsynced audio. And yes, since you’re wondering, it was horribly fantastic.
Anyway, movie reviews aside, given the amount of chatter #Sharknado was garnering on Twitter, ESPN decided they’d have a little fun at the expense of the San Jose Sharks. The ESPN Twitter account decided to ask Northern California’s NHL team if they had any plans to change their name to the “San Jose Sharknados”. Not missing a beat, whomever is behind the Sharks social media accounts fired back at the World Wide Leader in Sports:
Hey @espn, thoughts on showing more hockey highlights?
