David Wells Thinks Manny Ramirez Deserves 2nd Chance

Manny Ramirez is on his comeback tour in the Texas Rangers system. The Rangers are hoping that Ramirez can invigorate their batting rotation and possibly fill the hole that will be created by Nelson Cruz if he is suspended by MLB.

While on KRLD-FM in Dallas, former MLB pitcher David Wells said some strong remarks about kicking PED users out of baseball. But when asked about Manny Ramirez he said that he deserves a second chance.

“If he’s clean, and I also believe in second chances, then yeah. If he can produce, and we all know that he can, he’s proven it then why not. Second chance is always good. But if you get a second chance with steroids and all that stuff then you should be done. If you get caught doing something, that’s the heavy hitter. That’s the big question out there. Manny Ramirez, they’re going to take a chance on him. We’ll see. If he produces and he’s clean then I think all is forgiven.”
