Fresh off of his impressive performance at this past weekend’s UFC 162 event, Mark Munoz has a new bout already scheduled. It was announced late Friday night that Munoz will be making a trip across the pond to take on top UFC middleweight contender Michael Bisping on the UFC on FOX Sports 1 even in Manchester this October.
MMA Junkie has learned from sources close to the event that Michael Bisping(24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) and Mark Munoz (13-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at an as-yet-unnamed UFC event tentatively scheduled for Oct. 26 in Manchester, England.
The bout is expected to serve as a five-round main event for the card, which is expected to take place at Manchester Arena (formerly known as Manchester Evening News Arena).
Munoz was hoping for a shot at the title if Anderson Silva stuck by his guns and refused a rematch with Chris Weidman, but a win over Bisping would put him at the top of the middleweight ladder along with Vitor Belfort.
Munoz vs. Bisping is the first bout announced for the card.
