Being a professional athlete has it perks, though, I do admit having to do pointless interview after pointless interview must be irritating.
I’m pretty sure Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth agrees.
The former Philadelphia Phillies player wasn’t exactly thrilled after the loss against his one time club Thursday night and begrudgingly took questions from the media. One reporter took things a little too far – or should I say – a little too close, which caused Werth to effectively end the interview immediately.
Werth seemingly held his emotions in check for the first few minutes, dealing with the CSN Philly microphone getting closer and closer to his face but eventually ran out of patience as the microphone became nearly lodged in his sinus cavities.
“Can you get that thing out of my face?” he said, as a CSN Philly mic got a little to close for comfort. Werth then abruptly ended the question portion of the evening with, “Yeah. I’m good.”
What wasn’t shown was Werth kidnapping the reporter and locking him in the basement while he dined on some fava beans and nice chianti.
Don’t mess with the beard, people.
