Jrue Holiday made the All-Star game last season, and the Philadelphia 76ers decided to cash in on his value by trading him to the New Orleans Pelicans. While Holiday admits that it was a little shocking to get traded, he is also excited to play alongside Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon.
“Playing with Tyreke ever since we were younger, the chemistry has always been there,” Holiday said. “Seeing (Gordon) go up against those Olympic guys and the way he went at them, again is just really exciting for me. Playing against him for the last three years, again it’s just something that he’s always one of those people I wanted to play with.”
It remains to be seen whether the Pelicans decide to trade Gordon, but as of right now it seems that Evans will be occupying a sixth man role and potentially taking over the starting job if Gordon was to get hurt.
When New Orleans let go of Nerlens Noel and a first-round draft pick, it became blatantly clear that the Pelicans want to make a push for the playoffs next year but in a very competitive Western Conference with a lot of great teams it’s certainly not going to be easy.
